For rounds ten, eleven and twelve of the 2014 BRDC Formula 4 series, the teams and drivers arrived at the historic Oulton Park in Cheshire.
In the official test, all three Douglas Motorsport drivers ran comfortably inside the top ten but in qualifying it was Charlie Eastwood who outpaced his Mexican team mates en route to eighth place on the grid for race one.
With race one starting on the Friday afternoon, Eastwood made a good start and was running with the leaders when he was hit from behind, spinning him out and dropping him to last. Diego Menchaca was involved in a hectic scrap for the duration of the race, eventually crossing the line in tenth, whilst Rodrigo Fonseca’s good race was negated when his transponder inexplicably failed, effectively excluding him from the results.
In race two Eastwood climbed to twelfth from the back, whilst Menchaca in ninth and Fonseca 14th, also from the very back.
