BRDC British F3 Championship, 2018. Rounds 4,5,6
April 28-29, Rockingham
After a podium finish for Jamie Chadwick at Oulton Park, Jordan Cane matched that result with 3rd place in race 1 at Rockingham, a race in which treacherous conditions played a huge role. Arvin Esmaili’s race was over on the first lap after he found trouble with a number of other drivers. Jamie Chadwick was one of those drivers who found trouble but she was able to recover somewhat and bring the car home in 9th place, an impressive result after the bad start.
Race 2 saw Jamie Chadwick cross the line in 4th position, but a battle for that position over the last number of laps saw Jamie pickup a time penalty for exceeding the track limits. With a number of drivers close behind Jamie, it meant she dropped back to 10th position. Jordan Cane, who dropped a few places at the beginning of the race managed to make the places and push to finish in 8th position. Arvin Esmaeili finished in 13th.
Race 3 once again saw a number of retirements on the first lap, unfortunately two Douglas Motorsport drivers were among them. Arvin Esmaeili and Jamie Chadwick were unfortunate once again to hit trouble on the first lap of a race at Rockingham. Meanwhile Jordan Cane finished the race in 6th position. However it was not over there. The stewards at Rockingham issued an amended race 3 result after a number of drivers were disqualified. One of those disqualifications meant Jordan Cane made up 1 place and finished 5th. Two other drivers were disqualified for causing collisions, both collisions were with Douglas Motorsport drivers Jamie Chadwick and Arvin Esmaeili.
Car number 17 (Clement Novalak) was disqualified from seventh place for causing a collision with car 55 (Jamie Chadwick) on lap one (regulation C1.1.5, Driving in a manner incompatible with general safety).
Car number 68 (Chia Wing Hoong) was disqualified from 11th place for causing a collision with car number 66 (Arvin Esmaeili) on lap one (regulation C1.1.5, Driving in a manner incompatible with general safety).
Rounds 7,8,9 will take place at Snetterton on 26/27 May
